About

I'm going to be a grandma! Well, someday. (UPDATE: Grand #1 is due in January!)

In the meantime, I've decided it's time to learn all I can about grandparenting so I'll be ready when my turn comes. Want to learn with me? Want to contribute? Read on.

Oh, How Grand! was started as a place to gather information as well as celebrate "grands" from both ends of the generation scale, grandparents and grandchildren, and their families. We'll be sharing tips and tales from and about current grandmothers, grandfathers, pappaws, mammaws,  grannies, nannies, gramses, and grampses, and about their offspring, the grandchildren, or "grands," that they adore. We'll even let grandchildren of all ages get in on the fun by sharing tips and tales learned from (or about) their grandmoms and granddads.

I'll be looking for lots of input from experienced friends, old and new, those who've already had the opportunity to learn first-hand about the ways of "grands" and grandparenting.

If you're a "grand" on either end of the generational spectrum and have a tip, an anecdote, or something else special that you'd like to share, I'd love to hear from you. I'll be soliciting stories, advice, and opinions periodically, so watch our posts to find out what types of tips and tales we're looking for. In return for your participation, you'll get a space on our Guest Grands page for a short bio and a link back to your own blog or website.*

Thanks for sharing, following, and reading along with us. You really are grand!

  1. When my eldest daughter told me she was expecting, I was overjoyed. But that joy was magnified when after an ultra-sound, I learned she was expecting twins. My twin granddaughters were born, on the 9th of December, 1983, the very date of your new blog, but of course with a different year! Wishing you the very best with your wonderful new blog!
